Chartered Accountants Day (CA Day) is celebrated annually on July 1 to mark the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It is also a recognition of the important role that CAs play in the economic and financial sectors of the country. This year ICAI celebrates its 76th year of existence.

The history of Chartered Accountants Day dates back to July 1, 1949, when the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was established by an Act of Parliament. Before the formation of the ICAI, the accounting profession in the country was unregulated. The establishment of the ICAI introduced a structured framework that governs the education, qualification, and professional conduct of Chartered Accountants nationwide.

Chartered Accountants Day is a significant occasion as it celebrates the contributions, achievements, and integrity of chartered accountants.
