Nilesh Vikamsey Appointed New ICAI President

The board also appointed Naveen Gupta as vice-president of the statutory body.

The 23rd Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) appointed Nilesh Vikamsey as their new president for the financial year 2017-18. Vikamsey has been part of the ICAI since 1985 and has served as a member of the ICAI Council since 2010. He was also appointed vice-president of the statutory body in 2016-17.

The body also appointed Naveen Gupta as vice-president for the period between 2017-18. Like Vikamsey, Gupta has also been serving as a member of the ICAI's Central Council since 2010.

The Council consists of 40 members, of whom 32 are elected by the members and remaining 8 are nominated by the central government generally representing the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders.
