The Supreme Court has scheduled June 26 to hear Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea against the Delhi High Court order that put an interim stay on his bail in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam. A vacation bench of Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti said they would await the high court’s decision on the matter.

Senior Advocate Abhishek Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, requested the vacation of the interim stay on the bail order. ASG SV Raju, representing the Enforcement Directorate, opposed Kejriwal's plea, noting the high court is close to announcing its verdict on the stay application.

The Aam Aadmi Party national convener, arrested by the ED on March 21, could have been released from Tihar jail on Friday if not for the high court's interim stay granted to the federal anti-money laundering agency.
