Singapore-based start-up wants to change the way you make rotis

Roti-making has always been associated with drudgery: kneading the flour, rolling the dough, heating it on a pan and then placing it on fire. Now, a start-up wants to change that by making fresh rotis available at a touch of a button.

From this month, Zimplistic, a Singapore-based startup, would be rolling out a machine which aims to churn out a one roti per minute. All you have to do is to add flour and water into the machine. Zimplistic claims that the appliance, called Rotimatic, is world's first fully automatic roti making appliance.

Zimplistic has already posted a clip on YouTube demonstrating how the machine works. The four-minute clip has been already viewed by nearly 2 million users since being uploaded in October.

Zimplistic says it will be rolling out the pilot batches of machines in this month and after that it will go in for a full-scale production. The prices of the device has not been disclosed yet.

Pranoti Nagarkar, co-founder and CTO of Zimplistic, says, "We are working on the final phases as we take it through manufacturing and user testing. With Rotimatic we hope to finally get rid of the belan."
