JSPL Says Jharkhand Project Not Shelved

New Delhi: Stating that Jharkhand thermal power plant has not been shelved, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) said on Wednesday that it is trying to secure a coal block in auction or long-term linkage for the project.

"Jindal Power (a subsidiary of JSPL) has not shelved the thermal power plant at Godda, Jharkhand. The company will try to take some other coal block in auction or apply for long-term coal linkage for this project," JSPL said in a statement.

The capacity of the plant is 1,320 mw, it said.

JSPL said earlier in the day that it is studying on the bidding of coal blocks for the next round of auction, which is expected to start in May.
