The European Space Agency (ESA) on Sunday shared delightful images and videos of astronauts celebrating World Chocolate Day aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The ESA's Instagram post showed the astronauts enjoying various chocolate treats.

ESA's post said, "Astronauts aboard the @iss indulge in chocolate delights just like we do on Earth." The post also featured a video of an astronaut aboard the ISS, displaying the various goodies.

One astronaut shared, "You can see around me that from time to time, whether it's canned goods or sweet treats, we are lucky enough to receive shipments from family and friends."

The images showed astronauts making chocolate crepes with flour tortillas and enjoying silky chocolate mousse, which is part of a scientific experiment. The ESA also mentioned that the astronauts got creative by building chocolate-covered biscuit houses, bringing a touch of home to their space station.

The ESA encouraged people to join in the celebration, saying, "So, as we celebrate World Chocolate Day on 7 July, let's send a sweet shoutout to the astronauts savouring their favourite chocolate goodies while orbiting the Earth!"

World Chocolate Day was instituted in 2009 and is celebrated every year on July 7. The holiday commemorates the anniversary of the introduction of chocolate to Europe in 1550. People around the world celebrate this day with enthusiasm, enjoying their favourite chocolate treats.
