Systematix Research Report

Industry experts were upbeat on the prospects of India’s fertiliser industry. The demand for fertilisers in India continues to grow, driven by better monsoon and higher MSP.

Urea continues to see robust demand due to its affordability, as government subsidies cover nearly 90% of the cost. However, the government is actively promoting more balanced use of nutrients and soil health management to normalize the consumption of nitrogen-based fertilisers.

While a gradual shift towards organic and bio-fertilisers is seen, these are expected to be supplementary rather than being replacements for traditional fertilisers in the near term. The sector's future hinges on successfully navigating regulatory changes, embracing technological innovations, and adapting to evolving market demands, while maintaining profitability.

We remain constructively positive on the India’s fertiliser sector.
