Prime Minister Narendra Modi affirmed India's commitment to strengthen its global partnership with the US for the benefit of all, following a meeting with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Monday.

Earlier, NSA Ajit Doval and Sullivan engaged in extensive discussions focusing on the implementation of the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies.

'Met US National Security Advisor @JakeSullivan46. India is committed to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for global good,' Modi said in a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

During the talks between Doval and Sullivan, several significant initiatives were finalised to enhance cooperation in critical technologies, defence, semiconductor, advanced telecommunications, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and clean energy.

Sullivan is currently in Delhi from June 17 to 18, marking the first visit to India by a senior Biden administration official since Prime Minister Modi's re-election.

Accompanying Sullivan is a high-level delegation comprising senior US government officials and industry leaders.

Sullivan's visit follows a brief interaction between Prime Minister Modi and US President Joe Biden at the G7 summit in Italy's Apulia region three days ago.

The top Biden administration official also held a meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
