Ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been promoting different yoga poses through a series of animated videos of himself.

These videos, shared on social media platform X, show an animated version of PM Modi doing various yoga poses. The entire video series was uploaded on YouTube on June 11.

In his tweet on June 11, PM Modi stated, "In ten days from now, the world will mark the 10th International Day of Yoga, celebrating a timeless practice that celebrates oneness and harmony. Yoga has transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, uniting millions across the globe in the pursuit of holistic well-being."

"As Yoga Day approaches, I am sharing a set of videos that will offer guidance on various asanas and their benefits. I hope this inspires you all to practice Yoga regularly," he posted.

1. Vrikshasana: The Tree Pose

The first video from the series shared by PM Modi on social media platform X was on Vrikshasana or the tree pose. The post read "Vrikshasana or the tree pose has several benefits, including helping improve balance and posture."

Benefits of Vrikshasana

By standing on one leg, Vrikshasana enhances both physical and mental balance. It tones the muscles of the legs, from thighs to feet, promoting strength and stability. The pose also helps in opening up the hips and improves flexibility in the pelvic area, benefiting overall reproductive health.

2. Tadasana: The Mountain Pose

On June 13, PM Modi shared insights about Tadasana, the second pose in the series. PM's post on X read "Tadasana is very good for the body. It will ensure more strength and better alignment."

Tadasana stretches the muscles and improves blood circulation, enhancing joint flexibility and lubrication. 5. Padahastasana: The Hand to Foot Pose

On June 16, PM Modi highlighted Padahastasana as the fifth video of the series. PM's post read, "Padahastasana has several benefits…do practice it."

6. Bhadrasana: The Butterfly Pose

June 17 marked the introduction of Bhadrasana by PM Modi. "Bhadrasana is good for strengthening the joints and reduces pain in the knees. It is also good for the stomach," the post read.

7. Ustrasana: The Camel Pose

The latest addition to PM Modi's yoga series, shared on Tuesday, features Ustrasana. The post introducing the seventh video of the series read, "Ustrasana strengthens the muscles of the back and neck. It also improves blood circulation and improves eyesight."

Ustrasana stretches the hip flexors deeply, promoting greater flexibility in the hips and thighs. It strengthens the muscles of the back and neck, supporting spinal health and posture improvement. The pose stimulates blood flow throughout the body, aiding in better circulation and organ function, including better eyesight. By relaxing the hip flexors, Ustrasana provides relief from lower back pain.
