In its latest press release, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and neighbouring suburbs including Thane and Palghar. A red alert has also been issued for cities like Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg for the next four days until June 28.
On Monday, isolated places in Mumbai saw moderate rainfall. IMD has predicted the intensity of showers to gather pace after June 26. Overall the June month has seen deifiect rainfall after it entered Mumbai around June 9.
Given below is the district-wise weather forecast and warning until June 28 for various districts of Maharashtra.
Mumbai Weather Forecast
IMD has said that the island city will likely receive heavy rainfall at isolated places until June 28.
Thane Weather Forecast
IMD has said that Thane will likely receive heavy rainfall at isolated places until June 28.
Palghar Weather Forecast
The weather agency has said that Palghar will likely receive heavy rainfall at isolated places until June 28.
Pune Weather Forecast
IMD has said that Pune will likely receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas until June 28.
Other districts of Maharashtra including Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Satara are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next five days.
Districts of Dhul, Nasik, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Sangli, Sholapur, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded and Latur are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall at isolated places until June 28.
India Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy showers across other parts of India. Red and Orange alert have been issued for these states until June 28. Below is the list.

Konkan & Goa is very likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) until June 28, 2024.
Madhya Maharashtra is very likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) until June 28, 2024.
South Interior Karnataka is very likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall until June 26, 2024.
Odisha is likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) on June 27 and 28.
Heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) is likely at some places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on June 25 and 26.
Assam & Meghalaya is likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) on June 27 and 28.
Arunachal Pradesh is very likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) until June 28.
Kerala & Mahe is very likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall until June 26.
Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over East Uttar Pradesh from June 26 to 28; and over West Uttar Pradesh on Jine 28, over East Rajasthan on June 27 and 28 and over Uttarakhand on June 27 and 28.
Heatwave Warnings
IMD has also heatwave alerts with Heat wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Bihar till June 25 and in West Rajasthan from June 25 to 27. The weather agency stated that heatwave intensity will reduce thereafter.
Southwest Monsoon 2024 Update
IMD also provided an update on the progress of Southwest Monsoon and stated that "Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of North Arabian Sea and Gujarat State; some more parts of Madhya Pradesh; remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar; some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 3-4 days."
