Nifty, Sensex Open Higher As Infosys, HDFC Bank Share Prices Lead: Opening Bell
The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex opened higher on Tuesday as Infosys Ltd. and HDFC Bank Ltd. share prices lead. As of 09:17 a.m., the Nifty 50 was trading 79.30 points or 0.33% higher at 24,301.20, and the Sensex was trading 280.48 points or 0.35% higher at 80,390.33.
"On the downside, the 24,000 level is expected to act as critical support. A break below this level could drag the index toward the 23,800–23,600 range. Conversely, 24,500 serves as a crucial resistance level, and a sustained break above this mark could lead the index to higher levels. In this volatile environment, traders are advised to adopt a buy-on-dips strategy as long as the index holds above the 23,800 mark, with a strict stop-loss at 23,600 on a closing basis to effectively manage risk," said Hardkik Matalia, a derivative analyst, Choice Broking.
Infosys Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. added to the Nifty 50 index.
NTPC Ltd., UltraTech Cement Ltd., Trent Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd., and State Bank of India weighed on the Nifty 50 index.
On NSE, eight sectors were trading on a positive note, three declined and one remained flat out of 12. The NSE Nifty IT rose the most, and the NSE Nifty PSU Bank declined the most.
Broader markets outperformed benchmark indices. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices were trading 0.50% and 0.66% higher, respectively.
On BSE, 18 sectors advanced and two declined out of 21. The BSE Utilities declined the most.
Market breadth was skewed in favour of buyers. Around 2,089 stocks advanced, 695 stocks declined, and 97 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
Yield On The 10-Year Bond Opens Flat
The yield on the 10-year bond opened flat at 6.84%. It closed at 6.85% on Monday, according to data on Bloomberg.

Oil Prices Recover On Supply–Side Worries
Crude oil future prices recovered on Tuesday as investors turned wary that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies may decide to keep output cuts in place till Jan.
Reuters reported that Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said that the OPEC is likely to mull to keep their output cuts in place.
Brent crude was trading 0.19% higher at $73.15 a barrel as of 08:27 a.m. The price settled 2.87% lower at $73.01 a barrel on Monday on news that a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah may happen soon.
US Money Market Update: Dollar Index, Treasury Yields Gain
The dollar index and US Treasury yields rose in early trade on Tuesday after US President–elect Donald Trump said that the country will impose 10% tariff on Chinese goods and 25% levies on import from Mexico and Canada.
The dollar index, which measures the strength of the greenback against six major currencies, was trading 0.43% higher at 107.27 as of 08:22 a.m.
The benchmark yield on the US 10–year treasury note was trading 0.18% higher at 4.28% as of 08:23 a.m.
On Monday, the dollar index and US Treasury yields declined as traders became hopeful Trump's choice, Scott Bessent will give importance to market and economic stability.
Stock Market Live: Gold Prices Rise In Asia Trade
Gold future and spot prices regained some of the losses in Asia session on Tuesday. The December future contract of Gold was trading 0.43% higher at $2,629.80. The spot gold was 0.13% higher at $2,628.47 an ounce as of 08:05 a.m.
On Monday, gold prices declined over 3% after news reports said that the Israel is nearing a ceasefire with Hezbollah. Gold snapped a five session rally on Monday.

Asia Market Update: Stocks Decline On Concerns Over US Tariffs
Share indices in Asia–Pacific declined on Tuesday as investors in the region remained concern over the tariff by the US on China. President–elect Donald Trump said that the US will impose additional 10% tariff on Chinese goods and put 25% levies on imports from Mexico and Canada, Bloomberg reported.
The Nikkei 225 and KOSPI were trading 1.93% and 0.68% lower, respectively. The S&P ASX 200 was trading 0.39% down as of 07:05 a.m.

GIFT Nifty Near 24,200; HUL, IndiGo, Zomato, SpiceJet Share Prices In Focus
The GIFT Nifty was trading near 24,200 in early trade on Tuesday. InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. Hindustan Unilever Ltd., and SpiceJet Ltd. share prices are likely to react.
The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.53% or 128.50 points lower at 24,225.00 as of 6:40 a.m.
Indian equity indices, including the Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex, gained nearly 4% over two sessions, recouping recent losses. Both the benchmarks recorded their highest closing since Nov. 6.
The Nifty closed 1.32% higher at 24,221.90, while the Sensex rose 1.25% to 80,109.85.
