Fuel prices keep fluctuating regularly as they depend on the international crude oil prices and the foreign exchange rates. Indian oil marketing companies (OMCs) like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. release the petrol and diesel prices for the day for different cities across the country every morning at 6:00 am. The OMCs derive these prices by taking into account the crude oil prices, foreign exchange rates, dealer commissions, and the value added tax (VAT) across various states.
