Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised Zomato's founder and called his journey "inspiring". Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi reposted a video of Goyal where he revealed what his father said when he told him about his startup idea.

"In today's India, one's surname doesn’t matter. What matters is hard work. Your journey is truly inspiring, @deepigoyal! It motivates countless youngsters to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams," the prime minister said.

"We are committed to providing the right environment for the startups to flourish," he added.

Responding to PM Modi's "kind words", Goyal wrote, "This does certainly motivate us to work harder, and do better."
