New Delhi: Nine of the 10 most valued Indian companies together added Rs 30,034.14 crore to their market capitalisation or M-Cap during October 17-October 21, with IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) topping the chart.
Barring Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), the remaining nine companies - including HDFC Bank, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and State Bank of India (SBI) - saw a rise in their market capitalisation for the week.
The M-Cap of TCS surged by Rs 12,374.28 crore to Rs 4,78,557.83 crore.
SBI's valuation zoomed by Rs 5,045.81 crore to Rs 2,00,590.16 crore.
The market value of ONGC jumped by Rs 2,951.64 crore to Rs 2,39,553.72 crore.
The M-Cap of HDFC soared by Rs 2,740.28 crore to Rs 2,11,698.59 crore while that of Infosys went up by Rs 2,457.74 crore to Rs 2,38,445.83 crore.
HDFC Bank added Rs 2,265.61 crore to its market value, taking its valuation to Rs 3,23,384.58 crore.
The M-Cap of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) swelled by Rs 1,980.31 crore to Rs 1,84,201.42 crore.
The valuation of CIL moved up by Rs 157.91 crore to Rs 1,97,891.70 crore while that of ITC rose by Rs 60.56 crore to Rs 2,90,495.76 crore.
On the other hand, RIL suffered a loss of Rs 4,460.29 crore to Rs 3,45,211.26 crore in its market valuation.
In terms of ranking, TCS was at the top spot, followed by RIL, HDFC Bank, ITC, ONGC, Infosys, HDFC, SBI, CIL and HUL.
On a weekly basis, the Sensex and the Nifty rose by 403.58 points (1.45 per cent) and 109.65 points (1.27 per cent), respectively.
