Education is important to shape a nation. India does not produce enough numbers of skilled students.
Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation told NDTV Profit in an interview that that education is a key driver today in a country’s progress.
Ambani shared her plans on education and the challenges confronting the Indian education system. She said that Reliance University is the next big project in the pipeline, while completion of the Mumbai Hospital Project is her current priority.
“Equity in education is important. For me, to see that every child can read or write is the most important thing for any nation, “ she said.
She strongly feels that implementation in education is an issue. "The teacher-child ratio needs to be improved. The right to education should be the objective,” she added.
“Education has always been a passion for me. I was a teacher 27-28 years ago. I’m still a teacher by heart. I love going to the classrooms and teaching because I feel teaching and learning are one of the most important things that we can do to a child,” she explained.
