Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd. will borrow up to Rs 16,000 crore in financial year 2026 through various sources, including domestic bonds.
The fundraising is subject to approval by shareholders at the annual general meeting that will be held on July 10, according to an exchange filing.
The board will also discuss enhancing the borrowing limit to Rs 15,000 crore in the fiscal 2024-25, through issue of secured/unsecured, non-convertible, non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable/tax-free bonds under private placement from domestic/other sources. The current limit is Rs 12,000 crore.
The consolidated net profit of the public sector undertaking declined by 3.6% in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal.
Shares of Power Grid closed 1.21% higher at Rs 339.40 per share, as compared to a 0.07% decline in the Sensex.
