Power Grid Commissions Rs 30,300 Crore Transmission Projects in FY16

New Delhi: Central utility Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) on Saturday said it commissioned transmission projects worth Rs 30,300 crore in the last fiscal year.

"POWERGRID has commissioned transmission projects worth Rs 30,300 crore (unaudited) in financial year 2015-16," the company said in a filing to the BSE.

PGCIL is engaged in power transmission business with the responsibility for planning, coordination, supervision and control over inter-state transmission system and operation of national and regional power grids.

The company has a large network of primary transmission system of 206 EHV substations and over 1,28,200 circuit kms of transmission lines and transformation capacity of 2,49,578 MVA as on February 29, 2016, according to the company's website.

Power Grid has been providing one stop consultancy services to state-owned utilities, private utilities, central public sector undertakings and government departments. It has a client base of around 145 in power sector and is expanding, the website said.
