Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: Technical bids were opened for the construction of track

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited has opened technical bids for the construction of tracks and track-related work on the upcoming high-speed bullet train corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The construction work for which bids were open is between Vapi and Vadodara along the high-speed railway line's route. A total of four bids were received for the particular track construction work, according to a statement shared by the organisation.

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited or NHSRCL is responsible for the design, construction, execution, and maintenance of the country's first bullet train corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The bids were received from IRCON International Limited, Larsen and Toubro Limited, NCC Rahee- JV, and Afcons-Texmaco JV in the process, according to NHSRCL. (Also Read: Bullet Train Project: Financial Bids Open For Construction Of Bridges On High-Speed Rail )

Recently, the company also opened bids for the construction of the Sabarmati rolling stock depot for the upcoming high-speed railway line. The bids were invited for the design, construction, installation, as well as testing and commissioning of the Sabarmati depot - which is set to be the largest depot among three depots planned for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train network.

Once ready for passenger services, the country's first bullet train will operate at a speed of 320 km per hour. Along the route, the bullet train will pass through 12 stations, covering select regions in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The bullet train will cover the entire distance between the two states in two-three hours with stoppages at all stations, according to NHSRCL.
