German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz today launched its premium sedan E63 AMG, priced at Rs 1.29 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The launch is part of Mercedes' plans to enhance its product portfolio in India.
"The launch of the new E63 AMG further reiterates our promise of bringing fascinating cars to India," Mercedes-Benz India managing director and chief executive officer Eberhard Kern said.
The company has introduced a range of new products, including the A Class, B Class (diesel) and an all-new version of the sedan E Class in India in the recent past.
The launch of the E63 AMG would help the company improve its market share in the country, Mr Kern added.
"When all the new generation models like A, B, CLA and GLA are launched, we expect them to contribute around 40 per cent to our total volumes in India," Mr Kern said, adding the company had received "great response on the models which were launched earlier this year."
The E63 AMG comes with a 5.5-litre V8 engine, with a displacement of 5,461 cc.
