Luxury Hotel Tariffs Fall The Most In These Cities: Report

In 2015, luxury hotel tariffs fell 13 per cent to Rs 16,589 per night, says a report

Mumbai: Indian travellers made the most from tariff slash across various overseas destinations, paying much less while booking a four-star and five-star hotel room in 2015, according to a report by Hotels.com.

The Hotel Price Index (HPI) from Hotels.com report revealed that among the international tourist hotspots, Istanbul witnessed the steepest fall in hotel room prices. 

For a five-star accommodation, Indians paid Rs 10,702 per night in Istanbul (Turkey), 17 per cent less lower than the 2014 rates, it said.

They paid only Rs 7,028 per night for a four-star accommodation in Istanbul, which was 23 per cent lower than 2014 levels, revealed the report.

Other destinations that saw decreased prices for a five-star accommodation in 2015, included Bali (Indonesia) with a fall of 13 per cent priced at Rs 16,589 per night, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) with a dip of 12 per cent priced at Rs 8,114 per night, Dubai (UAE) with a fall of 8 per cent priced at Rs 15,727 per night; and Frankfurt (Germany) with a fall of 6 per cent priced at Rs 14,357 per night, it added.

While Istanbul leads the list for destinations with the steepest fall in hotel room prices for a four-star
accommodation in 2015, Frankfurt ranks second with a fall of 20 per cent, priced at Rs 9,334 for a night. Third on the list is Rome (Italy) with a fall of 19 per cent, priced at Rs 8,960 for a night followed by Florence (Italy) ranked fourth on the list, with a fall of 18 per cent priced at Rs 10,766 for a night, it said.

Hotels.com is an online accommodation booking website offering bookings ranging from international chains and resorts to local favourites and bed and breakfasts.
