Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg marked his 40th birthday with a nostalgic celebration. His wife Priscilla Chan organised a party that recreated significant locations from Zuckerberg's early days.
The celebrations included various scenes from his life, showcasing the journey of the tech mogul. Zuckerberg took to Instagram to share snippets from the celebrations.
He expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. "Grateful for my first 40 years! Priscilla threw me a little party and recreated a bunch of places I lived in the early days," he posted.
The recreated locations included:
His childhood bedroom, where he learned to code.
His Harvard dorm room, where he launched Facebook, featuring a "special guest" appearance by Bill Gates.
His first apartment, which had just a mattress on the floor, reminiscent of the early Facebook days until the platform reached 100 million users.
The office lockdown, where the team worked tirelessly to fend off competitors.
Pinocchio's Pizzeria, a staple from his college days.
A touching moment where he showed his daughters the room he grew up in.
"Grateful that people travelled from all around the world to celebrate with me," Zuckerberg added.
In the photo with Bill Gates, Zuckerberg can be seen seated on a chair wearing a black T-shirt and jeans, with a metal chain around his neck. Gates, in a casual T-shirt and shorts, is seated on a couch, evoking memories of Zuckerberg's Harvard dorm days.
Chan also took to Instagram to wish her husband a happy birthday. "Mark doesn't usually let me go big for his birthday, but for his 40th, I was allowed to throw a bash as long as our friends and family also roasted him. We all had a blast! Let's just say that no one suffered from a lack of material!" she wrote.
Reflecting on their years together, Chan added, "Jokes aside, as I reflect on the 21 of Mark's birthdays we have spent together, one of my favourite things about Mark is how he really, truly believes in people. He sees the potential in all of us. I have no idea what adventures are coming next, but I’m here for all of them. Here’s to many more."
Zuckerberg's post also featured a photo with his daughters in a recreation of his childhood bedroom. The post has garnered around 5,00,000 likes and numerous comments.
