Overseas investors remained net buyers of Indian equities for the 13th day in a row on Wednesday. It is the longest buying streak by FPIs so far in 2022.
Foreign portfolio investors net bought equities worth Rs 2,347.22 crore today, as per data from the National Stock Exchange.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors net sold equities worth Rs 510.23 crore.
Institutions had net bought Rs 3,978.31 crore worth of equities in July alone; the only month of the year when institutions remained net buyers.
Institutions have net bought Rs 13,675.09 crore worth of equities in August, and net sold equities worth Rs 34,764.6 crore in 2022.
The Indian benchmark indices outperformed to reach a four-month-high on Wednesday. The Sensex breached the 60,000 mark to close at 60,260.13, while the Nifty 50 closed at 17,944.25.
