New Delhi: Essar Projects, promoted by the Ruias, on Tuesday announced that it has won a Rs 85-crore order from Indian Oil Corporation to replace its 141 kilometres of pipeline.
"Essar Projects had bagged the contract for replacing 141 km of pipeline of 18-inch diameter in the Koyali-Viramgam section of Indian Oil Corporation's (IOC) Koyali-Sanganer pipeline. The contract is valued at more than Rs 85 crore, exclusive of the cost of pipes, which are being supplied by IOC," Essar Projects said in a release.
Originating at Indian Oil's Gujarat Refinery in Koyali, Gujarat, the 1,056 km Koyali-Sanganer product pipeline is the company's longest and helps the oil PSU meet its supply commitments in central India.
Essar Projects COO A V Amarnath said in the statement, "We are... given the opportunity to work on a pipeline that has such a vital role in India's oil & gas sector. In fact, though falling oil prices have led to a slowdown in the global oil and gas industry and deferment of many new projects, we are beginning to see some kind of a revival in India."
Essar Projects has established capabilities in designing, planning and executing complex pipeline projects involving oil and gas, water and iron ore slurry.
The company has a track record of laying over 5,500 km of pipelines through some of the toughest terrains in India, the UAE and Madagascar.
It has executed oil and gas pipeline projects for diameters ranging from 18 inches to 48 inches as well as lengths ranging from 100 km to 550 km. Essar Projects' pipeline expertise is also backed by Essar Steel's Hazira steel plant and pipe mill.
