Adani Airport Handles One Million Tonne Cargo In FY24, Logs Impressive 7% Growth

During the fiscal under review, 65% of the cargo handled by Adani Airport was international.

Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. recorded a 7% growth on-year in cargo handled to cross the one-million-tonne mark last fiscal, a company statement said.

The company handled 10.13 lakh metric tonne of cargo in the financial year concluded March 2024, capturing over 30% market share. In the previous fiscal, the total cargo tonnage handled stood at 9.45 lakh metric tonne.

"This achievement solidifies our position as key facilitators in both international and domestic airfreight operations in India," said Adani Airport Chief Executive Officer Arun Bansal.

During the fiscal under review, 65% of the cargo handled by Adani Airport was international. International cargo tonnage amounted to 6.62 lakh metric tonnes, marking 9% growth in annual terms.

The cargo operations were driven by commodities, including automobiles, pharmaceuticals, perishables, electricals, electronics, and engineering goods. Germany, Netherlands, the UAE, the UK and the US were the major international destinations serviced during the quarter.
