Air Pegasus, a low-cost airline based out of Bengaluru will take to the skies soon. The company management will announce the date of its first flight on Wednesday.
Air Pegasus will operate the 72-seater ATR 72-500 aircraft and will initially connect the southern cities of Bengaluru, Hubli, Kochi and Trivandrum with the IT capital city as its base.
The airline is promoted by Decor Aviation, which calls itself the largest ground handling service provider in South India. The company has its presence in all major airports in South India including Bengaluru, Chennai, Trivandrum, and Cochin.
Air Pegasus received its flying permit from aviation regulator DGCA or the Directorate General of Civil Aviation last year.
According to reports, Air Pegasus will focus on South India in its first year of operations and look to expand to the other parts of the country after that.
Vijaywada-based Air Costa which received its flying permit along with Air Pegasus started operations last year itself.
