Addis Miller from Costa Rica recently shot into the limelight after sharing his extraordinary weight loss journey. Miller claimed he shed 13 kg (28 lbs) by going on a strict water fast for 21 days. He has shared his experience in a YouTube video, calling it "life-changing" and offering a glimpse into his journey.

"Earlier this year, I embarked on a 21-day water fast in Costa Rica. This experience was truly life-changing for me, and I am excited to share some of the precious moments from my journey," Miller wrote in his video description. He detailed his fasting schedule over the three weeks, highlighting both the challenges and benefits he experienced.

He explained that during the fast, he consumed only water and no food or salts. He started by drinking four litres of water a day but soon realised he needed more as his skin became dry and his eyes bloodshot. Despite feeling tired and low on energy during the initial days, he persevered.

"The first few days, I felt like my body was clearing out. My belly was rumbling a lot, and I was tired," Miller shared. "Each day, my body would get physically weaker, and I struggled to walk."

However, on the 14th day, he claims he experienced a turning point. He felt a deep connection with nature and an overwhelming sense of bliss. "It was an effortless process. I could enter these realms of bliss. The feelings and sensations were overwhelming."

By day 19, Miller said he felt spiritually energised and mentally clear, despite his physical weakness. He was no longer hungry and he wanted to extend the fast. "My physical body was becoming weaker and weaker, but I was becoming more energised," he said.

Miller says in the video that the fast has additional benefits, including improved smell, hearing, and memory. He had long COVID-19 and struggled with his sense of smell, which, he claimed, improved significantly after the fast.

What Is Water Fasting?

Water fasting is a type of fasting where only water is consumed, and all other foods and drinks are avoided. This method has gained popularity as a quick way to lose weight. According to Healthline, water fasting may have health benefits, including reducing the risk of certain chronic diseases and promoting autophagy, a process where the body recycles and breaks down old cell components.

People often undertake water fasts for religious, spiritual, detox, or weight loss reasons. However, it is important to remember that prolonged water fasting may lead to severe health issues such as muscle loss, nutrient deficiency, dehydration, and eating disorders. It is crucial to consult a medical professional before starting a water fast to ensure it is safe for you.
