The NSE Nifty 50 and the S&P BSE Sensex ended flat at 24,320.55 and 79,960.38 points respectively.
ITC Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., Infosys Ltd., Oil & Natural Gas Corp. and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. contributed the most to the gains in the Nifty.
HDFC Bank Ltd, Titan Co., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Tata Steel Ltd. and Divi's Laboratories Ltd. pulled the Nifty lower.
The market breadth was skewed in the favour of sellers as 2,254 stocks advanced, 1,804 rose and 111 remained unchanged on the BSE.
