The veteran investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was popularly known as the "Big Bull", owing to the bets he placed on the markets and on specific companies. His peer Ramesh Damani, however, chose to call him Nostradamus for his accurate predictions.

Remembering Jhunjhunwala on his birth anniversary, Damani said on Thursday he deeply misses him at social gatherings such as Diwali or budget parties. “His presence is deeply missed.”

Damani said a prayer ceremony was organised at the Bombay Stock Exchange after Jhunjhunwala's death. He died on Aug. 14, 2022, owing to cardiac arrest at the age of 62. After the ceremony, many of his friends celebrated his life by remembering him at his favourite pub 'Geoffrey' in Marine Drive, Mumbai. “We almost felt it was our duty to do that.”

Jhunjhunwala's happiest moment, according to Damani, was the birth of his three children. "He organised loud and lavish parties and called all the who’s who of the town to these parties," Damani recalled.

Damani also spoke about Jhunjhunwala’s 50th birthday celebration in Mauritius, when he witnessed a softer side to the veteran trader, who was focused more on his friends and family. "I'm glad that I was a witness to his story."
