With Delhi temperatures soaring to all-time highs this summer, residents had their share of challenges dealing with the intense heat.

A homoeopathy doctor shared her experience on platform X where the besan laddoos sent by her family had turned to "cake".

Sharing her woes in a lighter tone, the user, whose twitter handle is @thisisbhumika, wrote, "Dear Besan ke laddoo Welcome to Delhi ki garmi!" [sic].

When another user inquired if the incident was real, she said her family had sent besan laddoos but by the time they reached Delhi, they had turned into a cake.

Delhi Weather Update

After a long and harsh spell of heatwave, the national capital witnessed a pleasant morning on Thursday, with the weather department saying parts of the city received light rains.

The India Meteorological Department predicted a generally cloudy sky, with the possibility of very light rain and gusty winds during the day. Duststorms or thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely.

Swathes of northern India, including the national capital, have been in the grip of a punishingly long heat wave, increasing heat stroke casualties and prompting the Centre to issue advisory to hospitals to set up special units to cater to such patients.

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius, over four notches above the normal. The night temperature in Delhi was 35.2 degrees Celsius, the city's highest in June since 1969, the Met office said on Wednesday.
