The UEFA Euro 2024 is set to begin on June 15 with hosts Germany taking on Scotland in the opening match of the tournament in Munich. With 24 countries, and 51 matches, this 30-day tournament is going to be an action-packed battle for Europe. The final match will be played on July 15.

The last edition of the tournament was held across Europe and Italy emerged as the champions defeating England on penalties at Wembley. Here is all you need to know about the 17th edition of the European Championship or Euros:

The format will be the same as for UEFA EURO 2020. All 24 teams will play one match each against the team in their respective group in a round-robin format. The top two teams in each of the six groups will proceed to the round of 16 along with the four best third-placed finishers. The round of 16 will be followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and then the final.
