Shooters Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh bagged the bronze medal in the 10-metre air-pistol mixed-team event by defeating South Korea on Day 4 of the Paris Olympics 2024.

Bhaker became the first athlete in the history of independent India to win two medals at a single edition of the Olympics, while Singh became the sixth Indian shooter to win a medal at the summer Olympics. This is India's second medal at Paris so far.

The Indian duo defeated Lee Won-ho and Oh Ye Jin of the Republic of Korea by a 16–10 scoreline.

A third medal maybe in cards as the 22-year-old will be contesting in the women's 25m pistol event on Aug. 2.

On Sunday, Bhaker ended India's 12-year wait for a shooting medal in the Olympics by securing a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event of the Paris Games. Incidentally, Oh Ye Jin had won gold at this event.

Bhaker's success in the Paris 2024 comes three years after her disappointing performance during the Tokyo Olympics.

The last time India won a medal for shooting was at London 2012, where Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang bagged medals for the country.
