T20 World Cup 2024: Australia entered the record books after registering a comprehensive win against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup Super 8 match on Friday, June 21. In doing so, they registered their 8th consecutive win in the T20 World Cup breaking England's record set during the 2010-12 period.

Chasing a target of 141, Australia reached 100/2 in 11.2 overs before rain interrupted the match proceedings. But as the rains continued to lash down in Antigua, no further action was possible and Australia eventually won the match by 28 runs (under Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method). With this win, Australia moved up to the top spot on the Super 8 points table ahead of India because of a superior net run rate.

Most consecutive wins in T20 World Cup

Australia features twice in the list alongside India, registering six consecutive wins during the 2010 T20 World Cup. India achieved the same feat during the 2007 and 2009 T20 World Cup combined.
