NTPC Q1 Coal Production Jumps 15%

Coal despatch also rose 17.15% to 10.194 MMT during the April-June quarter.

State-owned NTPC Ltd.'s coal production rose nearly 15% to 9.862 MMT during the first quarter of fiscal 2025, according to a business update. Its coal dispatch also rose 17.15% to 10.194 MMT during the April-June quarter.

The company generated 113.87 billion units in the first quarter of FY25, at a growth of 9.5% as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. During the quarter, NTPC coal stations recorded a plant load factor of 79.5%.

NTPC has significantly ramped up its power generation, ensuring a steady and reliable supply of electricity as the nation’s electricity demand continues to soar to new peaks.

Shares of NTPC closed 0.11% higher at Rs 370.30 per share, as compared with a 0.04% decline in the Sensex.
