Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Q1 Results: Profit Surges 82%, Meets Estimates

Ebitda margin expanded to 13.3% in the June quarter versus 11.5% in the year-ago period.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.'s consolidated net profit jumped 82% in the first quarter of the current financial year and was in line with analysts' estimates.

The company posted a profit of Rs 315 crore in the quarter ended June, according to an exchange filing on Tuesday. Analysts tracked by Bloomberg had estimated a profit of Rs 300 crore.

Apollo Q1 FY25 Earnings Highlights (Consolidated, YoY)

  • Revenue up 15% to Rs 5,086 crore versus Rs 4,418 crore (Bloomberg estimate: Rs 5,089 crore).

  • Ebitda up 33% to Rs 675 crore versus Rs 509 crore (Estimate: Rs 698 crore).

  • Ebitda margin at 13.3% versus 11.5% (Estimate: 13.7%).

  • Net profit up 82% to Rs 315 crore versus Rs 173 crore (Estimate: Rs 300 crore).

Healthcare Services (Hospitals)

  • Consolidated revenues of the healthcare services division increased 15% to Rs 2,637.3 crore in Q1 compared to Rs 2,293.7 crore in Q1 FY24.

  • Ebitda was at Rs 621.7 crore in Q1 FY25 compared to Rs 542.3 crore in Q1 FY24. The Ebitda was higher by 15 % year-on-year.

  • As on June 30, Apollo Hospitals had 7,942 operating beds across the network.

  • The overall occupancy for hospitals was at 68% versus 62% in the same period in the previous year, aided by a strong increase in patient flows across hospitals, with inpatient volume increasing 11% and outpatient new registrations rising 13%.

Apollo Health & Lifestyle Ltd.

  • AHLL gross revenue at Rs 366.1 crore, 15% year-on-year growth.

  • The diagnostics business has an overall network of over 2,300 centres and spread across 300 cities serving over 15,000 customers daily.

  • Diagnostics revenue stood at Rs.116.4 crore and Spectra at Rs.74.3 crore.

Apollo HealthCo 

  • Apollo HealthCo entered into a binding agreement to raise equity capital of almost $300m from private equity investor Advent International.

  • Offline pharmacy distribution revenues at Rs 1,836.9 crore in Q1 FY25, while revenues from figital platform were at Rs 245.2 crore.

  • Overall HealthCo revenue was at Rs 2,082.1 crore representing a 15% YoY growth.

  • 44 net new stores were opened in this quarter, taking the total number to 6,074 stores.

  • GMV of Apollo 24/7 at Rs 695.4 crore in Q1 FY25, growth of 9% over Q1FY24.

Shares of Apollo Hospitals closed 1.26% higher at Rs 6,586.55 apiece on the BSE, as compared with a 0.87% decline in the benchmark Sensex.
