Modi 3.0: First Lok Sabha Session To Run From June 24 To July 3

The newly sworn in members will meet for the President's address, followed by a discussion and they will also elect the Speaker.

The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on June 24 and conclude on July 3, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Wednesday.

The newly sworn in members will meet for the President's address, followed by a discussion and they will also elect the Speaker.

The budget is likely to be announced in the third week of July.

"People of India have decided and its our 'sacred duty' to serve the nation. Parliament is the perfect platform to discuss, debate and deliver to fulfill the aspirations of 140 crore Indians," he said in a social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Modi 2.0: First Lok Sabha Session

During Modi's previous tenure as Prime Minster, the first session of the Lok Sabha commenced on June 17, 2019. The new members took oath during the first two days of the session and elected the Speaker on the third day.

This being the first Session after General Elections, the President addressed both Houses of Parliament and the Union Budget 2019-20 was announced on July 5, 2019.
