Fugitive Mihir Shah was arrested in the Worli hit-and-run case on Tuesday, as reported by NDTV. Shah, accused in the fatal incident involving a BMW, was apprehended 72 hours after the accident.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday morning, resulted in the death of Kaveri Nakhwa, 45 and injuries to her husband Pradeep, who were riding their two-wheeler in Mumbai's Worli area.
Shah's father, Palghar Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah, actively assisted in his son's escape and had plans to tow away the vehicle involved, PTI reported.
The probe into the BMW hit-and-run case has found that Nakhwa was run over by accused Rajrishi Bidawat just before the Bandra Worli Sea Link, after being dragged there by the main accused Mihir Shah as the two fled.
Earlier on May 19, a tragic accident occurred in Kalyani Nagar involving a 17-year-old driving a Porsche. The teenager, allegedly intoxicated and behind the wheel of his father's luxury car, collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the deaths of two IT professionals.
The teenager, who got bail hours after the accident on May 19, was sent to the observation home in Maharashtra's Pune city three days later following an outcry.
