PM Modi To Visit Jammu And Kashmir On June 20-21; Check Full Schedule And Key Details
On June 21, at around 6.30 AM, Prime Minister Modi will participate in 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC in Srinagar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir on June 20 and 21. According to a PMO release, PM Modi will participate in the 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' event at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar around 6 pm on Thursday.
He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects in the state. He is scheduled to launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).
On June 21, the Prime Minister will participate in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC in Srinagar at 6:30 am. He will address the people and take part in the CYP Yoga session.
PM Modi Srinagar Visit Details
'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' is an important event in Srinagar as it will highlight the state's growth and inspire young achievers. PM Modi will visit the stalls and interact with young achievers at the event.
He is to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 84 major developmental projects with a budget of over Rs 1,500 crore. These projects belong to several sectors such as road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and infrastructure in higher education etc.
"Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for projects like improvement of Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri section, the development of industrial estates and construction of six government degree colleges," the PMO stated.
PM Modi will launch the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture & Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) valued at Rs 1,800 crore. This project will be implemented across 90 blocks in 20 districts of the state and impact 300,000 households covering 15 lakh beneficiaries.
He will distribute appointment letters to over 2,000 people appointed in government service.
10th International Day Of Yoga
The 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) will be observed on June 21 and the Prime Minister will lead the International Yoga Day Celebrations at SKICC, Srinagar. This year's event aims to highlight the impact of yoga on young minds and bodies. This event will unite thousands in the practice of yoga, and promote health and wellness worldwide.
PM Modi has led the International Day of Yoga celebrations from 2015 at different destinations such as Kartavya Path in Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, Mysuru and even the United Nations headquarters in New York.
"This year's theme 'Yoga for Self and Society' highlights the dual role of yoga in fostering individual and societal well-being. The event will encourage grassroots participation and the spread of yoga in rural areas," the statement said.
