Monsoon Onset Over Mumbai In 3-4 Days, Says IMD; Issues Heavy Rainfall Warning For These Places
Southwest Monsoon advances further, Mumbai among other places in Maharashtra to receive heavy rainfall in the coming week.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest bulletin on Friday, June 7 issued an 'Orange alert' for Maharashtra and Coastal and North Interior Karnataka during the next 5 days predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall.
IMD also shared an update on the advancement of Southwest Monsoon stating that the "conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), Telangana, remaining parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of south Chhattisgarh & South Odisha, remaining parts of Westcentral & more parts of Northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 3-4 days."
Heavy Rainfall Warning Over South India
As per the weather office's prediction, isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Kerala and Mahe from June 8 to 11, over South Interior Karnataka on June 8 and 9, and over Telangana on June 10.

Heavy Rainfall Warning Over West India
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal & North Interior Karnataka from June 8 to June 11. Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also very likely over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on June 10 and 11.
IMD stated that Assam & Meghalaya is also likely to get isolated heavy (64.5-115.5 mm) to very heavy rainfall (115.5-204.4 mm) on June 10 and 11.
Rainfall Across India
Heavy to very heavy rainfall was reported at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala & Mahe on June 6. Heavy rainfall was also recorded at isolated places over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, Tripura, Vidarbha and Telangana on Thursday.
