The public holidays are declared in the state of Maharashtra for the calendar year 2024 in the exercise of the powers of the Central Government under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (XXVI of 1881) entrusted to it by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs vide its Notification No.39/1/68/JUDI-III, dated May 8, 1968.
