CNG, PNG Price Hike: Check Latest Rates in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata And Other Major Cities

CNG, PNG Price Hike: Mahanagar Gas (MGL) has hiked prices for compressed natural gas and domestic piped natural gas in Mumbai and neighbouring regions effective Tuesday midnight. The price hike is Rs 1.50 per kg CNG, bringing the new rate to Rs 75/kg, and Rs 1 per standard cubic meter for domestic PNG, taking the new rate to Rs 48/SCM in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The recent increase follows a prior reduction in CNG prices by Rs 2.50/kg before the Lok Sabha elections and a Rs 2/SCM decrease in PNG rates last October. On June 22, Indraprastha Gas Ltd, the gas provider for the national capital and adjoining cities, hiked CNG price by Re 1 per kg to Rs 75.09 in Delhi. PNG rates were not changed and continue to be Rs 48.59 per scm. Gujarat Gas also raised its prices of industrial natural gas to Rs 2.48 from Rs 2 per SCM in the Morbi region of Gujarat, since July 4.
