Inaugural Run Of WR's First Mumbai-Goa Train Today; Check Route, Timings And More

The train's inaugural run will take place on August 29 from Borivali, a major station on WR, instead of Bandra Terminus.

The inaugural run of the first bi-weekly train on the Western Railway for Goa and Konkan region will be held on Thursday. The train will commence its journey from Bandra Terminus.

Currently, all Konkan and Goa-bound trains from Mumbai operate from Central Railway stations. Starting a Goa-bound train from Bandra Terminus will benefit tourists from the western suburbs of Mumbai.

Mumbai-Goa WR's Train Launch

The train's inaugural run will take place on August 29 from Borivali, a major station on WR, instead of Bandra Terminus. According to the IRCTC website, the train will start at 1:35 p.m. and reach Madgaon at 4 a.m. on August 30.

Booking for the train will open on August 29 at all passenger reservation system (PRS) counters and on the IRCTC website.

Mumbai-Goa Train Timings

Train number 10115 will leave Bandra Terminus every Wednesday and Friday at 6:50 a.m. and reach Madgaon at 10:00 p.m. This will be with effect from September 4.

Train number 10116 will depart from Madgaon every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:40 a.m. and arrive at Bandra Terminus at 11:40 p.m. This will be with effect from September 3.

Mumbai-Goa Train Stoppages

The Mumbai-Goa train has been given stoppages at 13 stations between Bandra Terminus and Madgaon. The stoppages are Borivali, Vasai Road, Bhiwandi Road, Panvel, Roha, Veer, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, Sawantwadi, Thivim and Karmali.

Coaches To Offer Extra Comfort

The composition for the train is: AC-2 Tier, AC-3 Tier (economy), sleeper and general second-class coaches.

A WR official told PTI that in the absence of a cord line, they will have to change the direction from north to south at Vasai road for running Konkan-bound trains from their system.

The train will be operated with 20 LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch)-type coaches. These coaches offer enhanced safety, comfort, and efficiency for passengers.
