List Of Bank Holidays In July 2024; Banks To Remain Closed On These Days

In July 2024, banks will be closed on the occasion of Beh Dienkhlam, MHIP Day, Kang (Rathajatra), Drukpa Tshe-zi, Harela, Muharram/Ashoora/U Tirot Sing Day.

In July 2024, banks in India will be closed for 12 days, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This includes six holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, as well as the regular closures on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays.

Please note that holidays may differ by state. In July, an important holiday affecting bank schedules will be Muharram.

On Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram, Muslims commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain Ali, a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, in the battle of Karbala in 680 AD with mourning rituals.

List Of Bank Holidays In July 2024

  • July 3 (Wednesday): Beh Dienkhlam - Banks in Meghalaya will remain closed.

  • July 6 (Saturday): MHIP Day - Banks in Mizoram will remain closed.

  • July 7: Sunday

  • July 8 (Monday): Kang (Rathajatra) - Banks in Manipur will remain closed.

  • July 9 (Tuesday): Drukpa Tshe-zi - Banks in Sikkim will remain closed.

  • July 13 (Saturday): Second Saturday - Regular holiday.

  • July 14 Sunday

  • July 16 (Tuesday): Harela - Banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand.

  • July 17 (Wednesday): Muharram/Ashoora/U Tirot Sing Day - Banks will remain closed in multiple states including Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, and Himachal Pradesh.

  • July 21: Sunday

  • July 27: Saturday: Fourth Saturday - Regular holiday.

  • July 28: Sunday

RBI categorises holidays into three categories:

  • Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act

  • Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday

  • Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

Even though regular bank branches will be closed on these specific days, online banking services and ATMs will work smoothly.
