Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a bank holiday on Monday, June 17, in several states and cities across the country on account of Bakra Eid (Eid al-Adha). The holiday will affect physical banking operations; however, digital banking services, ATMs, and mobile banking services will remain available for customers.

The following states will observe a bank holiday on June 17 for Bakra Eid:

  • Chandigarh (Union Territory)

Banks in the following cities will also be closed on June 17:

Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram

Cities Without Bank Holiday

However, banks in the following cities will remain open on June 17:

Aizawl, Gangtok, and Itanagar.
