Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Add Rs 1.18 lakh Crore In Market Cap, Led By RIL, TCS

The valuation of Bharti Airtel fell by Rs 1,24,255 crore to Rs 8.71 lakh crore. ITC also lost Rs 36,803 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 6.21 lakh crore.

The top 10 most-valued firms added a cumulative Rs 1,18,783 crore in market valuation on Tuesday, with Reliance Industries Ltd. and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. emerging as the biggest gainers. Bharti Airtel Ltd. and ITC Ltd. were among the losers for the day.

Reliance Industries added Rs 65,631 crore, taking its market capitalisation to Rs 20.20 lakh crore and TCS approximately added Rs 54,885 crore with its market cap rising to Rs 16.48 lakh crore. State Bank of India Ltd. and L&T Ltd. were also among the winners in the session.

The NSE Nifty 50 extended its gains for a fourth consecutive session and the S&P BSE Sensex continued its rally after a one-day blip to record their highest closing since Aug. 2 as shares of finance and IT companies led the gains.

The Nifty ended 126.20 points or 0.51% higher at 24,698.85 and the Sensex was 378.18 points or 0.47% up at 80,802.86. During the day, the Nifty and the Sensex rose as much as 0.6% to 24,734.30 and 80,942.96 respectively.

RIL remained the most valued firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank Ltd., Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, Hindustan Unilever Ltd., ITC and L&T.
