FPIs Continue As Buyers As Sensex, Nifty Scale Fresh Records

Foreign portfolio investors bought stocks worth Rs 2,569.4 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

Overseas investors stayed net buyers for the second day on Tuesday after a day of selling. Foreign portfolio investors bought stocks worth Rs 2,569.4 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange. In this month the FPIs have sold over Rs 9,117.7 crore worth of equities.

Domestic institutional investors also stayed net buyers for the second day and mopped up equities worth Rs 1,555.7 crore, the NSE data showed.

Foreign institutions have been net sellers of Rs 23,193 crore worth of Indian equities so far in 2024, according to data from the National Securities Depository Ltd., updated till the previous trading day.

The benchmark equity indices extended gains for the fourth straight session and closed at record highs on Tuesday, with the financial pack contributing the most.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 92.30 points, or 0.39% higher at 23,557.90, while the S&P BSE Sensex closed 308.37 points, or 0.40% up at 77,301.14.
