BSE Ltd. has increased the number of partitions from 8 to 10 in the equity derivatives segment. This will be effective from July 8.

The All Enhanced Trading Interface applications, which are making use of partition ID for retransmission of orders, trades and making use of other messages that are partition oriented, will have to make necessary changes to query for 10 partitions instead of eight, according to a BSE circular.

The movement of products will have an impact on the existing enhanced order book interface/enhanced market data interface stream.

The bourse has partition-wise EOBI/EMDI multicast streams. The movement of product from one partition to another would mean that the market data for that product will not be available from the multicast stream of the partition where it originally belonged. It will be available from the multicast stream of the new partition where it has been moved.

BSE has asked members to make necessary changes in their EOBI/EMDI applications for continual activity of product movement. It will conduct a mock session on Saturday wherein the member applications can test for the addition of new partitions.
