Mumbai Lok Sabha Polls: Key Candidates, Big Fights And All You Need To Know

Senior leaders of the NDA in Maharashtra, including BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Chavan, Union Minister and RPI(A) chief Ramdas Athawale and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have arrived at Dadar Shivaji Park for the Jahir Sabha rally.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's only goal is his own re-election, and that the latter does not want to step aside for a younger generation. He also hit back at the PM's remarks in Maharashtra that the Shiv Sena faction led by him is "nakli" or duplicate.

Uddhav said, "Is the language in which Narendra Modi calls us fake Shiv Sena are acceptable to the BJP workers? That Shiv Sena which was with BJP in its bad times when BJP had only two MPs in the whole country but you call us nakali Shiv Sena".

Uddhav Thackeray also criticised PM Modi over his frequent charges against him and Sharad Pawar for encouraging dynasty politics and asked During this, he said on Modi's allegations of dynasty you blames Thackeray family for dynasty politics, but Eknath Shinde made his son a candidate of MP for the third time, you do not see his dynasty politics. If you believe in their dynasty politics, then why did you not given ticket to Pramod Mahajan's daughter, who made BJP big.

The half-a-dozen Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai will vote on May 20 in the fifth and last phase of voting in Maharashtra. The BJP and the Shinde Sena have fielded three candidates each in the city.

Dadar's Shivaji Park, where Modi is due to make his election pitch, falls under the Mumbai South Central constituency. The Shiv Sena has fielded two-time sitting MP Rahul Shewale against the Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Anil Desai.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray will attend the event, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said. He was speaking to reporters after meeting Thackeray, who has announced his party's support to BJP-led National Democratic Alliance's candidates in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.

"Thackeray's support (to NDA candidates) and his appeal to voters will reflect in the (poll) outcome," he said. "We have asked Raj to join us for the poll campaign in the next few days."
