Patan Lok Sabha Elections: BJP's Bharatsinhji Dabhi Wins Second Term

Dabhi won with 5,91,947 votes, while Thakor trailed with 5,60,071 votes.

Bharatsinhji Dabhi of the Bharatiya Janata Party defeated Congress' Chandanji Thakor in the Lok Sabha constituency of Patan in Gujarat, according to Election Commission of India data. Dabhi won with 5,91,947 votes, while Thakor trailed with 5,60,071 votes.

The Gujarat constituency comprises of four Vidhan Sabha seats—Radhanpur, Chanasma, Patan, and Sidhpur. Voting for Patan took place during the third phase of the election on May 7. The constituency had a voter turnout of 58.56%, with 62.16% being male voters, 54.77% female voters, and 31.25% third-gender voters.

Chandanji Thakor had the initial lead and until noon, the poll updates showed Patan as the only constituency in Gujarat which did not have a BJP candidate taking the lead in the vote share. Dabhi managed to take the lead by midday, overtaking Thakor and secured a win for the BJP in the constituency.

The seats had been won by BJP in the last two elections in 2019 and 2014. In 2019, Dabhi, the current MP of Patan, had a substantial victory of over 1,93,879 more votes than Congress' Jagdish Thakor. In 2014, BJP's Liladharbhai Vaghela won 54.25% more votes against the runner-up Congress candidate Rathod Dahyabhai.
