Nirmala Sitharaman has been retained as the finance minister for the next five years. She also retains the Minister of Corporate Affairs.

Sitharaman took over the finance portfolio in 2019 following Arun Jaitley's illness. She was the first full-time woman Finance Minister of the country in 2019.

She has also held the positions of Defense Minister and Industry and Commerce Minister.

On Sunday, she became the first woman to be sworn in as a minister for the third consecutive term under the Modi government.

Amith Shah and Rajnath Singh have retained the Home Ministry and Defense Ministry, respectively. Manohar Lal Khattar has been appointed as the new Minister of Power, along with the Housing and Urban Affairs portfolio.
