Mumbai South Lok Sabha Election Results: Arvind Sawant Secures Third Term
Sawant secured 3,95,655 votes, while Yamini Yashwant Jadhav bagged 3,42,982 votes, according to the data.
Arvind Sawant of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) secured his third term as a Member of Parliament by winning the high-profile Lok Sabha constituency of Mumbai South, with a margin of 52,673 votes over Yamini Yashwant Jadhav of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), as per the Election Commission of India.
Sawant secured 3,95,655 votes, while Jadhav bagged 3,42,982 votes, according to the data. The Congress-Shiv Sena (UBT) led I.N.D.I.A. bloc is currently ahead in 19 constituencies in Maharashtra, while the BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde)-led NDA is leading in just 5 constituencies in the remaining seats.
The BJP-led NDA is ahead in approximately 292 out of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, whereas the INDIA alliance is leading in more than 232 seats, as per the latest ECI data, which differ from the exit polls' forecasts of a significantly larger win for the NDA.
In Mumbai South's prominent constituency, all eyes are on the intense contest between two factions of Shiv Sena. Sawant, the two-time MP, is up against Byculla MLA Jadhav as he aims for a third straight victory.

The Mumbai South constituency, comprising six Vidhan Sabha seats—Worli, Shivadi, Byculla, Malabar Hill, Mumba Devi, and Colaba—saw a voter turnout of 54.84% in the fifth phase of elections held on May 20. Among the voters, 50.10% were male, while female voter turnout was 50.02%.
The seat had been won by Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Sawant in the last two elections—2019 and 2014. In 2019, Sawant won the election against former Congress candidate Milind Deora by 4,21,937 votes.
